What's special about this tea?

Traditional Moroccan green tea with mint is typically drunk sweet - very, very sweet. This is because they use Gunpowder Green, a tea so strong that sugar is needed to remove the astringency. We opted for a more delicate chunmee green tea known as Precious Eyebrows. Better to change the base tea than your teeth, we reckoned.

What is green tea & mint?

Green mint tea is a delicious mix of pure chun mee and peppermint leaves. Chun mee, which means "precious eyebrows" because of its twisted leaves, is a premium type of green tea from the Camellia Sinensis plant. The leaves are rolled into that unique shape and then pan-fried to neutralise the grassiness and bring out the underlying aroma. They are then mixed proportionately with peppermint leaves to make green mint tea. The resulting blend, which turns light green when brewed, isn’t too strong on the green tea flavour and has just enough mint to lift it all – making it an outstanding drink for any time of day!

What makes teapigs green mint tea bags so special?

Get ready for an exceptional green tea and mint experience from teapigs green mint tea bags. The large tea bags have enough space for the tea leaves to unfold fully and release their true flavours. These eco-friendly, biodegradable green mint tea bags use chun mee green tea that’s lighter and sweeter than the one used in the traditional Moroccan mint tea – so you won’t have to add sugar for a great taste, perfect if you’re watching your waistband.
