Teapigs liquorice and mint tea bags

Our liquorice and peppermint tea is a perfect mix of sweet and cool – exactly how a summer drink should be!

Our tea masters have carefully crafted this blend to bring you the best of both worlds. They mixed the liquorice root with the peppermint leaves. One for its natural sweetness – something to satisfy your sweet tooth in a guilt-free way, and the other for a cool and crisp flavour.

The combination gives a nice and chilled drink that’s perfect for any tea summer collection.

Teapigs apple and cinnamon tea bags

Our apple & cinnamon Tea is a yummy blend that combines apples, cinnamon, and roasted chicory root. This unique healthy summer tea blend also includes apple pomace (that is packed with dietary fibre and antioxidants) and blackberry leaves for added flavour. That’s not all – it also has a bit of citric acid to balance out the sweetness.

In short, this summer tea is a mix of crispy, fruity sweetness with a subtle tartness of apple. Its refreshing taste also blends in the soothing flavour of cinnamon. Let’s not forget about chicory root – a natural prebiotic fibre – that gives an earthy flavour with a bit of nuttiness.

Teapigs super fruit tea bags

Our superfruit blend is a delicious and healthy summer tea that combines hibiscus (known for its tart and refreshing taste) with elderberries (known for improving immunity). It also has blackcurrants, currants, cranberries and blueberries – the ingredients that give a naturally sweet and tangy flavour.

The combination brews into a stunning ruby-coloured infusion that has lots of antioxidants and other beneficial nutrients. The flavour, benefits and visual quality make it one of the perfect summer teas.

Teapigs rhubarb and ginger tea bags

The exotic blend of rhubarb and ginger makes one of the most uplifting summer teas. What we like the most about this tea is its balanced flavour – the tartness of rhubarb is nicely complemented by the warm and subtly spicy notes of ginger.

On top of its delicious taste, this tea is full of health benefits! Rhubarb has been valued for centuries in Chinese, and ginger in Ayurvedic medicines. Together, they create a feel-good drink that’s both delicious, healthy and suitable for any tea summer collection.

Teapigs chocolate and mint tea bags

Cocoa husk, peppermint and chocolate chips are combined to make this delicious chocolate & mint tea. Its flavour will most likely remind you of a classic dark chocolate mint you’d enjoy after dinner.

Our tea masters mixed a perfect ratio of ingredients for balanced chocolate and mint flavours in this refreshing drink suitable for any tea summer party. Just brew it, chill it and serve it! It also serves as a fantastic base for minty chocolate smoothies if you want something filling and revitalising.

Benefits of drinking tea in summer

Hydration and cooling effects

Tea is an excellent summer drink that keeps you hydrated and helps balance your body temperature. It’s a refreshing way to stay hydrated and beat the heat while enjoying the delicious flavours.

Interestingly, it’s not just the cold summer teas that have a cooling effect. Drinking hot tea in summer can help cool your body naturally. When you drink it, the warmth of the tea increases your internal body temperature slightly, which triggers your body’s cooling mechanismsweating. When sweat evaporates, your body temperature drops. And that makes you feel cooler.

Our healthy summer teas not only provide proper hydration but also support detoxification and digestion, especially after summer barbecues and treats.

Antioxidant Properties

There’s more to summer teas than just their hydrating and cooling properties. Drinking healthy tea varieties is also a nice way to enjoy the health benefits of antioxidants.

Like black and green teas, summer tea varieties are packed with these natural compounds that help protect the body from free radical damage. These compounds help reduce the effects of heat, pollution and sun exposure. By improving the strength of your immune system and stimulating your skin health, antioxidants in healthy summer teas play a vital role in your overall well-being. Taking a tea summer break with antioxidant-rich varieties can help you in various ways.

How to brew the perfect iced tea

Cold Brew Method

Making the perfect iced tea with the cold brew method is easy. But we won’t settle for just ‘easy’…we’ll help you get a flavour that just can’t be beaten.

1.     Choose your tea: Tea bags packed with whole/large pieces of ingredients are convenient and full of flavour.

2.     Measure the tea: One tea bag per 240 ml of water. Place it in a cup (or jug if you’re making a larger portion).

3.     Prepare the water: Use room temperature or cold water. Pour it over the tea in the cup and stir it.

4.     Steep: Place the cup/jug in the fridge for 6 to 12 hours. Check for taste from time to time.

5.     Serve: After steeping, remove the tea bags and serve over ice.

Quick Brew Method

Let’s check out the quickest way to have a cup of brewed iced tea.

1.     Choose your tea: Pick your favourite variety from the summer teas you have.

2.     Boil the water: Boil 240ml of water for every tea bag.

3.     Steep the tea: Pour the hot water over the tea bags in a heatproof jug. Let it steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on the tea. Don’t steep for too long, as it can turn unpleasant.

4.     Cool down the tea: After steeping, remove the tea bags. Let the tea come to room temperature for a few minutes, then place it in the fridge to chill quickly.

5.     Serve over ice: Pour your chilled iced tea over a glass of ice. Add sweetener or a slice of citrus to taste for an extra kick of flavour.

FAQs on summer teas

Q. Is it good to drink tea in summer?

A. Drinking tea in summer is an excellent idea! Tea helps keep you hydrated, and its cooling effects can regulate body temperature. Both cold and hot summer teas do that. How cold tea does that is a no-brainer. Hot tea does that by increasing sweating. Sweating cools you naturally. It’s even packed with antioxidants that help your body in several ways.

Q. What hot tea is best for health?

A. Hot tea comes with many health benefits, making it an excellent choice for overall wellness. Green tea is particularly popular for its high antioxidant content that supports brain and heart health, among other things. Black tea improves oral and cardiovascular health, while herbal teas help with digestion and relaxation. Each variety has unique advantages, and it’s difficult to name just one hot tea as best.

Q. Is milk tea good in summer?

A. Milk tea varieties can prove to be refreshing summer teas, especially when they are chilled and served with ice. The combination of tea and milk creates a creamy and smooth drink. Additionally, this combination is usually cooling and satisfying. A couple of popular variants are Thai iced tea or the iced chai tea latte. A heads up, though – hot milk tea can feel heavy in the heat, so try an iced version.

Q. Can drinking tea help keep me hydrated in hot weather?

A. Staying hydrated is crucial during the warmer months, and summer teas make it easy. Tea is almost as effective as water for keeping your body hydrated. Additionally, tea varieties are delicious and a healthier alternative to sugary sodas and fruit juices. In short, healthy summer teas are the way to go if you want to stay hydrated in hot weather.
